Invisibile, eppure decisivo: un custode silenzioso del nostro equilibrio, fisico e mentale.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"480\" data-end=\"703\">Parliamo di un muscolo timido e ben nascosto, di cui quasi mai abbiamo percezione: lo psoas (o iliopsoas). \u00c8 l\u2019unico muscolo che collega la colonna vertebrale alle gambe, situato in profondit\u00e0, al centro del nostro corpo.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"705\" data-end=\"1142\">\u00c8 il primo, fondamentale motore del nostro sviluppo motorio: senza lo psoas non avremmo imparato a stare seduti da bambini, n\u00e9 muoveremmo un passo da adulti. \u00c8 grazie al suo sviluppo e alla sua attivazione se, intorno ai sei mesi, impariamo a metterci a sedere. Sempre lui mantiene stabile il bacino quando stiamo in piedi. Ed \u00e8 il principale flessore dell\u2019anca, grazie al quale camminiamo, corriamo e portiamo le ginocchia al petto.<\/p>\n<h4 data-start=\"1144\" data-end=\"1169\">Oltre la meccanica<\/h4>\n<p data-start=\"1170\" data-end=\"1370\">Tutto qui, insomma? No, ovviamente.<br data-start=\"1205\" data-end=\"1208\" \/>Lo psoas \u00e8 chiamato il <em data-start=\"1234\" data-end=\"1254\">muscolo dell\u2019anima<\/em> per la sua stretta relazione con il sistema nervoso e con il diaframma, il principale muscolo della respirazione.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1372\" data-end=\"1766\">\u00c8 collegato al sistema nervoso simpatico, responsabile della risposta <em data-start=\"1442\" data-end=\"1459\">fight or flight<\/em>. Per la sua funzione nella deambulazione, quando siamo stressati, ansiosi o impauriti, il corpo rilascia adrenalina e lo psoas tende a contrarsi come meccanismo di difesa (per prepararsi a fuggire o rannicchiarsi). Se la minaccia diventa costante, come nello stress cronico, il muscolo resta in tensione.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1768\" data-end=\"1908\">Inoltre, essendo in stretto contatto con organi come reni e intestino, la sua rigidit\u00e0 pu\u00f2 influire sulla digestione e sulla circolazione.<\/p>\n<h4 data-start=\"1910\" data-end=\"1942\">Prendersi cura dell\u2019anima<\/h4>\n<p data-start=\"1943\" data-end=\"2109\">Prendersi cura di questo muscolo, con pratiche come lo yoga o esercizi di stretching mirati, porta benefici che vanno oltre la semplice funzione muscoloscheletrica.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2111\" data-end=\"2169\">Mantenere lo psoas forte e rilassato \u00e8 fondamentale per:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"2170\" data-end=\"2469\">\n<li data-start=\"2170\" data-end=\"2235\">\n<p data-start=\"2172\" data-end=\"2235\">migliorare la postura e la fluidit\u00e0 dei movimenti del bacino;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2236\" data-end=\"2312\">\n<p data-start=\"2238\" data-end=\"2312\">agevolare la respirazione, grazie alla sua connessione con il diaframma;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2313\" data-end=\"2387\">\n<p data-start=\"2315\" data-end=\"2387\">ridurre lo stress fisico ed emotivo, favorendo stabilit\u00e0 e centratura;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2388\" data-end=\"2469\">\n<p data-start=\"2390\" data-end=\"2469\">aumentare l\u2019energia vitale, permettendole di fluire meglio in tutto il corpo.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"2471\" data-end=\"2596\">Prendersi cura dello psoas significa prendersi cura di s\u00e9. Quando si rilassa lui, anche l\u2019anima trova spazio per respirare.<\/p>\n<h4 data-start=\"2598\" data-end=\"2618\">Una curiosit\u00e0<\/h4>\n<p data-start=\"2619\" data-end=\"2873\">Un piccolo dettaglio affascinante, che racconta molto di noi esseri umani:<br data-start=\"2693\" data-end=\"2696\" \/>il gruppo muscolare dell\u2019ileopsoas \u00e8 composto dal muscolo iliaco, dal grande psoas e dal piccolo psoas. Dal 2012 pratico Iyengar Yoga con la maestra Lisi Bellesi presso la scuola di yoga Shanti di Firenze.
